Top winter sun destinations

If your mood tends to go downhill as we head into winter and you'd like to escape for a break somewhere warm and sunny, you may be wondering which are the top winter sun destinations.

Don't worry if you don't have time to jet off to the other side of the world, as we share some of our favourite winter sun destinations which are a little closer to home and don't require a day spent on a plane.

The Gambia

With its wonderfully exotic name, The Gambia sounds like somewhere which may not be accessible within a short flight, but it can actually be reached within 6 hours from London, making it ideal for a week or two away.

The amazing culture that you can discover there is almost as exciting as the warm temperatures, and you can mix and match days in the city with time spent relaxing on sandy beaches for a truly memorable winter sun getaway.

Tenerife

Just a 4 hour flight from London, Tenerife is a winter sun destination which is very popular with Brits as it is so quick to get to and boasts temperatures around 20 degrees, which will feel wonderfully warm compared to the chilly temperatures gripping the UK.

With a range of bars and restaurants to try out, you'll never be short of food and drink which is what many of us search for when we choose our holidays, and the beaches and landscapes are stunning to look at too.

Cape Verde

The perfect choice for those seeking an all inclusive experience, beautiful Cape Verde offers the chance to relax in one of its wonderful resorts while enjoying gorgeous beache, great temperatures, and fantastic hospitality.

Also around 6 hours from London, Cape Verde is in a reachable distance for those who don't mind spending a little longer on a plane in order to reach paradise.
