The best way to get around the USA is by bus because they are the cheapest option, which is always handy when you are trying to budget, and they provide an easy way to get between different areas of the country.

If you decide to take the train instead, research rail passes or book your tickets in advance to ensure that you don’t end up paying over the odds for your travel.

 

Try camping

If you plan to visit some of the USA’s stunning national parks, camping is a fabulous option as there are always campsites around the parks, and they allow you to experience the scenery in the best possible way.

If you haven’t planned to take camping equipment with you, you can always buy some for a reasonable price when you get there, or rent what you need instead.

Many of the main cities in the USA will offer city tourism cards which give you the opportunity to visit all of the main attractions for a reduced price.

They also often give you money off at a variety of local restaurants, so your food bills will be a little cheaper too!
