Three amazing places to visit in New Zealand
There are a multitude of amazing places that you can visit in New Zealand, and here are just three of them:
Rotorua
If you want to explore a place bubbling with geothermal activity, Rotorua is somewhere that you need to visit. With bubbling mud pools and impressive geysers, Rotorua is also home to a living Maori village so you can truly immerse yourself in the culture of this interesting country.
The natural heat that you experience in Rotorua is caused by volcanic forces underground, which warm up the ground and water. Maori used this heated water for bathing and cooking, and it was also thought to have medicinal properties due to the minerals that can be found within it, including calcium and silicon.
Milford Sound
The stunning Milford Sound fjord is a must-visit in New Zealand’s south island, and is best known for Mitre Peak, its iconic mountain which is one of the most photographed peaks in the country, and its landscape of rainforest and waterfalls which people often explore by boat.
You may also be lucky enough to spot seals, penguins, and dolphins if you visit Milford Sound, and there is plenty of marine life to be explored in the Milford Discovery Centre and Underwater Observatory.
Auckland
For those of you who need a bit of city time during your holiday, Auckland is the place to be. Not only does it boast a range of shops, restaurants and hotels, it is also home to the Sky Tower and the harbour bridge, which are both landmarks in their own right.
The Sky Tower is 328 metres high, making it the tallest freestanding structure in the southern hemisphere, and inside it you will find a casino, a revolving restaurant, and an observation deck. For the daredevils among you, Auckland’s Sky Tower also gives you the opportunity to walk around the outside of it, or bungee jump from it!
