Three Cities to Visit in Belgium

Belgium is a city with loads to offer its visitors, and here are just three cities in Belgium that you can choose to check out when you take a trip there.

Bruges

During your time in Bruges you will want to see as much as possible, so why not start with a tour? In the summer you could choose a peaceful boat tour or to be taken around the city by horse and carriage, but if you visit in the winter a minibus tour may be better.

With a variety of great coffee shops and restaurants to enjoy in Bruges you will be spoilt for choice, and once you have admired the art of the famous Jan Van Eyck and Hans Memling you could choose to catch a classic musical or contemporary dance show at the Concert Building.

Ghent

Relaxed, cosmopolitan, and free-spirited, Ghent is the perfect destination for those looking for both a laidback trip with a bit of history thrown in.

The Castle of the Counts is a must-see building in Ghent due to its fascinating history, plus it is the only remaining castle in Flanders which still has its moat and defence system intact so it is worth a visit for this reason alone.

For amazing views across the city climb the Ghent Belfry stairs, as this UNESCO World Heritage Site both stands out in the city skyline and will give you an unbeatable photo opportunity when you reach the top.

Antwerp

A city with many treasures, Antwerp has plenty to do for all the family. Start your day at the Central Station, the fourth most beautiful train station in the world, and follow this with a visit to the Festival Hall which has been recently renovated to include a glass dome with golf leaf and is currently home to over 50 shops.

Spend the rest of your day with a trip to Antwerp Zoo, which is one of the oldest in Europe, where you can see 950 species of animals including hippos, elephants, giraffes, and penguins.

With these great three cities in Belgium to choose from, it is definitely a country that needs adding to your holiday wish list.
