All-Inclusive versus Self-Catering Holidays
When you choose your holiday the type of board that you decide on could have an impact on quite a few aspects of your trip, so we are looking at all-inclusive versus self-catering holidays to help you to pick the best option for you.
Budgeting
If you have a set budget for your holiday it may be that you would prefer to book an all-inclusive holiday as once the break has been booked you can be confident that you won’t need spending money for food and drink, just excursions and other activities.
On the other hand, if you are good at sticking to a budget it will be cheaper to book a self-catering trip initially so this may be a better option for you if you know that you won’t overspend while you are away, especially if you are planning on eating in rather than going out to restaurants.
Food and drink
The length of your holiday can have an effect on whether self-catering or all-inclusive is the option for you as you may not fancy cooking for yourself for 2 weeks, or could get bored of the all-inclusive options if you are choosing to stay in a smaller hotel.
If you like to eat out at different restaurants during your trips then all-inclusive probably won’t be right for you as you’ll effectively end up paying from your meals and drinks twice, whereas with self-catering you can easily switch between eating in and out within your budget.
Time management
All-inclusive holidays can mean that you have to eat during particular times which may not be ideal if you like to stay out on the beach until the sun goes down, or want to have the occasional lie-in, whereas self-catering offers far more flexibility,
However, you might enjoy the structure that all-inclusive options can give to your day, and there are usually extras such as ice creams and snacks that you can have if you get peckish in between meals.
The all-inclusive versus self-catering holiday debate can really only be decided by you and what you want from your holiday, but both options can be ideal depending on what you are looking for from your trip.
