The Best Snorkelling Destinations in Europe

Snorkeling offers the perfect way to explore life under the sea without having to spend lots of money on learning how to dive, and there are plenty of places within easy reach of the UK where you can go to experience this.

Here we share some of the best snorkeling destinations in Europe so you can plan your next trip around this fun and fascinating activity.

Skiathos – Greece

Boasting stunning beaches and gorgeous weather, Skiathos is a fantastic snorkeling destination as it has over 60 beaches to choose from. The rockiest beaches can be found in the north and it could be argued that these offer the best experience, but you are sure to be happy with what you find wherever you decide to head to.

Cape Greco – Cyprus

You can find Cape Greco between Ayia Napa and Protaras, and it is one of the best places to snorkel in Cyprus so it is definitely worth visiting if you are staying nearby. You'll find underwater caves to explore, rocky sea beds to examine, and plenty of sealife which can sometimes include turtles.

Cala Luna – Sardinia

Like the rest of Sardinia, Cape Luna is absolutely stunning and is one of the most famous beaches in this holiday destination. With beautiful turquoise and azure waters to swim in, this is an amazing place to snorkel which makes it worth the trip from Cala Gonone or Santa Maria Navarrese as Cala Luna is only accessible by sea.

Blue Lagoon – Comino, Malta

You'll be spoilt for choice when you snorkel in Comino's Blue Lagoon, as it offers a wealth of sealife including sea urchins and tuna fish, plus you'll spot some awesome underwater caves and shipwrecks too! This location is child friendly so is ideal for a fun family snorkeling trip and perfect for keeping the kids occupied for hours!

So, if you are hoping to snorkel during your next holiday, give one of these great destinations a try and we are certain that you won't be disappointed with what you discover when you get into the water.
